Someone asked me what is the most important thing I have learned from dogs? There is so much to learn from our wordless, but not voiceless friends. A whole host of interviews could be made, and some have already done so. But, I am going to keep this really short; the most important thing I have learned from dogs is to shake it off. Watch what happens when a dog has something happen that is a little traumatic, they suffer for a minute, sniff the air, have a look around and give a good hard shake, rattling their ears against their head hard enough that it seems to knock the stress right back out. A really good shake rattles all the way down to their tail. Once the vibration stops, they shift back into the moment. Then they move on… I should be so wise.
