Specialized Training

 

Our dog training classes are held at Doggy Haven Resort in Bothell in the Field House dog training facility. Prospective Seattle area clients should contact the class instructor for additional information and permission.


FEISTY FIDO I – 6 weeks $210

 

Does your dog bark, lunge and/or whine in the presence of other dogs? If one of our regular classes may be too much for your pooch, Feisty Fido may be what he needs! This class will give owners the tools to calmly walk their pup while teaching alternative behaviors.

Instructor permission is required prior to enrolling in this class. Please contact the instructor for more information.

  • Class meets once weekly for 6 weeks
  • Class is limited to 4 dogs per class
  • Week 1 is an orientation for handlers only (no dogs)

FEISTY FIDO II – 6 weeks $210

 

For Graduates of Feisty Fido I. Feisty Fido graduates will build on their existing skills by adding more distractions.

  • Eye contact on cue
  • 90 degree turn with sit
  • 180 degree turn with sit

  • Class meets once weekly for 6 weeks
  • Class is limited to 4 dogs per class

CLICKS & TRICKS – 4 weeks $120

 

Looking for something fun to do with your dog? No prior training required! This class introduces the power of shaping to teach your dog fun tricks. Beginning, intermediate and advanced tricks are on the menu. Get ready to wow your friends and neighbors with your amazing canine companion!

  • Class meets once weekly for 4 weeks
  • For dogs 7 months and older

CAUTIOUS TO CONFIDENT CANINE – 4 weeks $120

 

Is your dog hesitant, standoffish or fearful acting with new people, noises, dogs or novel situations? This class will address ways to help your shy or timid dog gain confidence and security in a low-stress training environment. The class will focus on teaching your dog coping techniques that will foster more relaxed behavior from them in the future in an application that can be applied to a variety of situations.

  • Class meets once a week for 4 weeks
  • For dogs of any age

Curriculum will vary depending upon class, but base behaviors include:

  • Body language (stress or confidence)
  • Hand target (closed hand)
  • Greetings. “Friend” cue
  • Watch me (stationary sit, down, and walk)
  • Go to mat or bed
  • Handling. “Pet” on cue
  • Interrupt- redirect- reward
  • “Look at That”

Come join the fun! Registration for each session is open until classes are full.

  • All dogs and puppies must be current on vaccines. Proof of vaccinations will be requested at the 1st class session.
  • Dogs who are aggressive toward people or other dogs are not appropriate for group classes. Please contact the instructor prior to enrolling if you have concerns about your dog’s behavior.
  • Please plan to attend ALL classes. Makeup classes are not available. See Class Withdrawal & Refund Policy for more information.
  • Children ages 6 years and over are welcome to attend class with their parents.
