Safe, Fun & Healthy Dog Daycare

At Doggy Haven socialized dogs can get the physical and mental stimulation that they need to have a happy and healthy daycare experience! We focus on the whole dog. Your pooch will enjoy small playgroups matched with similar playstyles, comfortable rest periods, cuddles, positive reinforcement guidance, and daily report cards including photos.

The traditional free-for-all daycare style often results in overly tired or exhausted pups. Exhaustion breeds behavior issues and can lead to many dogs not enjoying the experience. Mental stimulation is just as important as physical activity. Our goal is to engage every dog physically AND mentally while also providing adequate and necessary rest periods.

How It Works

  • Daycare starts at 7 am and concludes at 6 pm. Daycare dogs need to be dropped off for the day between 7 am and 9am and pick-up is between 3pm and 6pm.

  • If this is your dog’s first day of daycare and/or they are attending a Meet & Greet ($50) for future boarding or daycare, the drop-off time is 9 am limited to two of these students per day.

  • DHU days need to be scheduled ahead of time in order to assure availability for your dog.

  • You may keep a recurring regular schedule to avoid having to schedule every week.

  • Single days can be purchased if you are not able to commit to a month, or if you would like to add additional days to an existing monthly package.

  • Attendance is limited to a maximum of 3 days per week.

  • Dogs need to come in on a collar and leash, these will be removed before entering the play area. *PLEASE DO NOT USE PINCH/PRONG COLLARS, SHOCK/TRAINING COLLARS, OR CHOKE CHAINS*

Important for the Success of your Dog

The safety of our dogs and staff is very important to us. Due to the nature of our business, we adhere to the following best practices:

Only well socialized dogs are allowed at Doggy Haven Resort. For any age, type, or breed of dog the ideal daycare candidate has most or all of the following experience or behaviors:

  • Has known and positive previous socialization

  • Receives regular exercise and mental stimulation at home

  • Enjoys interaction with other dogs *and* people

  • Is a healthy and moderately active dog

  • Has completed some positive reinforcement training or obedience classes

  • Does not have any bullying, resource guarding, or high prey drive traits

New dogs will need to complete a Meet & Greet

Here is a list of PURE BRED dogs that GENERALLY are not a good fit for our playgroups. If your dog is one of the breeds below, please feel free to call so we can discuss the temperament and socialization of your companions to see if they would be a good fit.

  • Akita

  • Bull Mastiff

  • Chow Chow

  • Rottweiler

Based on our experience we are unable to accept any purebred Belgian Malinois at this time, we apologize for any inconvenience.

We are proud to partner with Homeward Pet in Woodinville and happy to meet and care for dogs of all backgrounds and situations. If you have welcomed a new rescue into your family here is something to keep in mind before going out of town or starting a new daycare routine. 3/3/3 rule for MOST rescue dogs: Minimum 3 days to “detox” and adjust to being out of the shelter or foster home and being in a new home. Minimum 3 weeks to start to settle, to feel comfortable in their new space with their new family. Minimum 3 months to feel at HOME.

Spay and Neuter Requirements:

  • Female dogs must be spayed, if over 6 months of age

  • Male dogs must be neutered, if over 6 months of age

  • No exceptions allowed

Behavior

For any age, type, or breed of dog the ideal daycare candidate has most or all of the following experience or behaviors:

  • Has known and positive previous socialization

  • Receives regular exercise and mental stimulation at home

  • Enjoys interaction with other dogs *and* people

  • Does not have any bullying, resource guarding, or high prey drive traits

Meet & Greet

We want all visits to Doggy Haven to be successful! Having new dogs participate in a Meet & Greet ensures that your dog will be healthy and happy in our group play environment, and give them a chance to come to have fun and then get to go home at the end of the day.

A Meet & Greet can be scheduled Monday through Friday at 9:00 am (we only have room for 2 Meet & Greets per day) for $50 (reduced rate available for a second or third dog also doing a Meet & Greet at same time). Paperwork and veterinary requirements must be completed prior to this visit, including a negative fecal exam within two weeks of Meet & Greet date, or we cannot accept your dog into our care for the safety of our other guests.

Health

For all stays with us, it is important that dogs have up-to-date vaccinations which include (depending on age of dog): Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella (good for either 6 months or 1 year), and a negative fecal exam (these are good for 6 months after Meet & Greet is successfully completed). We ask that you bring the vaccine info with you to your appointment, or send it to us ahead of time, as we are not able to contact your veterinarian for you at this time. To attend daycare routinely, we do require all dogs to be on a regular flea control program.

Emergency Vet Services

In the event of an emergency, Doggy Haven Resort will make every attempt to contact you. If we are unable to contact you, we will take your dog to a local veterinary center of our choosing, depending on vet availability. Animal care facilities and veterinarians continue to be overwhelmed and booked out, but we will make every reasonable effort for the well-being and best interests of your pet.  All emergency services required for your dog will be charged to you at the time of pick-up.
