Welcome to daycare reimagined!

Doggy Haven University – Dog Daycare

At Doggy Haven University socialized dogs can get the physical and mental stimulation that they need to have a happy and healthy daycare experience! At DHU we focus on the whole dog. Your pooch will enjoy small playgroups matched with similar playstyles, comfortable rest periods, toy time, obedience games, cuddles, positive reinforcement guidance from the best teachers, snack time, weekly report cards including photos, and arts and crafts to bring home!

The traditional free-for-all daycare style often results in overly tired or exhausted pups. Exhaustion breeds behavior issues and can lead to many dogs not enjoying the experience. Mental stimulation is just as important as physical activity. Our goal with DHU is to engage every dog physically AND mentally while also providing adequate and necessary rest periods.

Our ‘University” activities will be included with overnight boarding as well!

How it Works

  • ‘Class’ starts at 7am and concludes at 6pm. Daycare dogs need to be dropped off for the day between 7am and 9am and pick-up is between 3pm and 6pm.
  • If this is your dog’s first day of ‘class’ and/or they are attending a trial day ($38) for future boarding or daycare, the drop off time is 9am limited to two of these students per day.
  • DHU is a monthly membership and renews on the same day the following month.
  • DHU days need to be scheduled ahead of time in order to assure availability for your dog.
  • You may keep a recurring regular schedule to avoid having to schedule every week.
  • Single days can be purchased if you are not able to commit to a month, or if you would like to add additional days to an existing monthly package.
  • Attendance is limited to a maximum of 3 days per week.
  • Dogs need to come in on a collar and leash, these will be removed before entering the play area. *PLEASE DO NOT USE PINCH/PRONG COLLARS, SHOCK/TRAINING COLLARS, OR CHOKE CHAINS*

FAQ’s

I have been coming to regular daycare, does my dog HAVE to participate in DHU?

Yes, we are transitioning to only having DHU for daycare and boarding dogs because it is better for everyone.

Does my dog need a reservation?

Yes, our daycare does fill up! We need every dog to have a reservation. It is best to have a regular schedule, and then just let us know in advance if you need to cancel. We do keep a waitlist for days that are full.

What are your hours?

Daycare/DHU dogs must be dropped off between 7am and 9am M-F and picked up between 3pm and 6pm. This is to ensure every dog gets the maximum benefit of the program and that more involved activities are not getting interrupted.

Do boarding dogs participate?

Yes, overnight boarding dogs will be getting the same interaction as the daycare dogs.

If I do not use all of my allotted days in a monthly package, do they roll over to the next month?

No, monthly packages allow you to attend a certain number of days per week, but you do not bank those days if you do not use them.

What if I need to add an extra day more in a week than my package allows?

You may purchase extra days at the single day rate of $49. Please schedule these days in advance so that you are sure to get in!

What if my dog has food allergies or sensitivities?

Please let us know if this is the case! We will not feed our treats to any of those dogs, and you are welcome to bring treats from home if you would like.

What if my dog resource guards or cannot share toys, balls, and other fun things with other dogs?

Please let us know if you know this about your dog! We are watching out for signs of resource guarding in every dog and we have many other fun and engaging activities that these dogs can participate in!

Where are you located?

From our accessible Bothell/Mill Creek location, we serve clients in the greater Seattle area from all the way downtown to Edmonds to Everett, or from Bellevue and Woodinville on the Eastside.

Trial day

We want all visits to Doggy Haven to be successful! Having new dogs participate in trial days ensures that your dog will be healthy and happy in our group play environment, and give them a chance to come have fun and then get to go home at the end of the day.

Trials can be scheduled Monday through Friday at 9:00 am (we only have room for 2 trials per day) for $38 (reduced rate available for a second or third dog also doing a trial at same time). Paperwork and veterinary requirements must be completed prior to this visit, including a negative fecal exam within two weeks of trial date, or we cannot accept your dog into our care for the safety of our other guests.

Prepayment

Participation in daycare requires payment prior to attendance.

Health

For all stays with us, it is important that dogs have up-to-date vaccinations which include (depending on age of dog): Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella (good for either 6 months or 1 year), and a clean fecal exam (these are good for 6 months after trial is successfully completed). To attend daycare routinely, we do require all dogs to be on a regular flea control program.

Emergency Vet Services

In the event of an emergency, Doggy Haven Resort will make every attempt to contact you. If we are unable to contact you, we will take your dog to a local veterinary center of our choosing. All emergency services required for your dog will be charged to you at the time of pick-up.
